The Haunting of Verdansk: Everything You Need to Know About Halloween in Call Of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare

It's October, which means it's the season of limited seasonal events in video games. The gaming world doesn't love vacation as much as Halloween, with its great opportunities for monsters, zombies, outfits, and what you have. In the Call of Duty universe, it's called "The Haunting of Verdansk" which, despite the Warzone-focused name, also applies to Modern Warfare. Let's head over to what you need to know about events, from start times to tactics and weapons. This information comes from the Call of Duty blog.

First, the start time. Although I am having trouble finding an official source about this, CharlieIntel is a usually trusted source and says this starts at 1:00 PM ET. I will update that if anything changes.

Visually speaking, the main thing here is a bunch of paid cosmetics, including Jigsaw's Jigsaw and Leatherface from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, as well as a villain in the universe named Dr. Karlov and "Grim Reaper" whipped the ghost of a somewhat grim reaper.

We also get a new JAK-12 rifle, which the blog says has "enough firepower to crush an entire enemy squad and turn it into head cheese." And it's  not all that specific, but it also has 32 mag-round cylinders, giving it the rifle's largest capacity.

Since this is Haunting of Verdansk, the biggest change here is for Warzone. We get the night mode, which is still moonlit but still gives an advantage to those who remember bringing the heat. There will also be some scary things going on there, and I'm particularly interested in seeing this ghost train. The night mode is great, but the real action here is Zombie Royale, where instead of going to Gulag when you die, you will be reborn as a zombie with increased speed, jumping, melee attacks, and thermal vision. If you can kill players and collect syringes falling from their bodies, you will get a second chance to return between the living.

There will also be "trick-or-treat boxes" strewn around them that either contains a weapon outline or some kind of indeterminate intimidation.

Modern Warfare also gets some content, with every operator who gets three dead in their life getting a jack or lantern on their head. There will also be some other cosmetic changes like scarecrows on the dominance points. We also get two new modes: Juggernaut and Sniper Kill only, which is self-explanatory.
