According to the National Day calendar, the purpose of the National Dog Day Foundation is to save 10,000 dogs each year. International Dog Day

Since people spend a lot of time at home over the past few months due to COVID-19, many have used it as an opportunity to bring a new furry friend into their homes.

Therefore, pet adoptions have seen an increase across the country amid this epidemic.

In addition, there is a national competition today! At noon (Pacific Time), the annual "World's Cutest Dog" National Dog Day Photography Contest will kick off.

Dog owners can post a photo of their dogs here, including the hashtag #nationaldogday, as well as a hashtag for your state - or country, if you're outside the United States.

The winning pup will receive a National Dog Day Gift Box valued at over $ 500, a feature on NationalDogDay.com and special features across our social media pages on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
